Il est guitariste\, dans une veine american primitive teintée de minimalisme\, mais aussi compositeur de musique de films et expérimentateur électronique; il qualifie sa musique solo de « minimalisme folk ».\nSon second album ‘Crows in the Basilica’ a été publié en 2013 chez Three Lobed Recordings. Il y présente des compositions mâtinées de piedmont blues\, guitare des Appalaches\, improvisations raga mais aussi d’inspiration traditionnelle chinoise. Il a perfectionné son approche moderne du style de fingerpicking american primitive avec ‘Blood Moon Boulder’ en 2015.\nEn 2016 il revient à la guitare électrique et accompagné d’un bassiste et d’un batteur avec ‘Velvet Arc’ \, retrouvant des territoires qu’il avait exploré avec les groupes Idyll Swords et Spatula.\nCollaborateur de Danishta Rivero dans le duo électroacoustique Blood Wedding\, il est également professeur de musique par ordinateur et de technologie musicale à l’Université du Pacifique.\nChuck Johnson a notamment partagé l’affiche avec Eugene Chadbourne\, Frank Gratkowsi\, Peter Kowald\, Miya Masaoka\, Pauline Oliveros et Danny Paul Grody\, parmi d’autres. \nFLETCHER TUCKER (US / Folk) \nhttps://gnomelife.bandcamp.com/ \nFletcher Tucker is an American multi-instrumentalist\, poet\, essayist\, and visual artist\, wilderness guide\, and primitive skills expert currently based in Big Sur\, California. Previously active as Bird By Snow\, Tucker released his first album under his own name\, Cold Spring\, in 2017 on his own label Gnome Life Records\, on which he has also released albums by the likes of Daniel Higgs and Robbie Basho. On Cold Spring\, songs emerge from minimal- and ritualistic sound-fields\, ambient and shadowy\, evocative and primordial\, combining American primitivism with experimental ambience.
