Elle grandit dans une vieille maison envahie de livres et de disques\, et développe vite un amour immodéré pour les chansons de Bob Dylan\, Otis Redding\, Jimmie Rodgers ou Lucinda Williams. C’est dans ce formidable creuset de genres musicaux – folk\, country et soul – qu’elle ira chercher quelques années plus tard la matière pour ses propres chansons. Une musique parfois impressionniste\, toujours chaleureuse. Ou l’équation parfaite entre Kate Bush\, Roberta Flack\, Kris Kristofferson et Nino Rota. \nShelley Short a publié sept albums à ce jour\, dont le plus récent\, ‘Pacific City’\, en 2017. Elle a accompagné sur scène des gens aussi recommandables que The Decemberists\, M.
